What is Pantethine?
Pantethine is a highly absorbable and biologically active form of Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B-5). The metabolic activity of Pantethine is due to its role in the formation of Coenzyme A (CoA), an essential cofactor for lipid, carbohydrate, and protein metabolism. Pantethine helps to support proper cholesterol production and fat storage processes in the liver, which can help to promote healthy body fat distribution. It has been shown in clinical studies to assist in the maintenance of healthy serum lipid levels for the support of a healthy cardiovascular system.

Due to its biochemical construction, research shows that Pantethine is much more active than Pantothenic Acid when it comes to the production of Coenzyme A.
CoA is also responsible for the initial steps of cholesterol synthesis and all downstream metabolites of cholesterol including steroids, Vitamin D and bile acids. Our bodies also need CoA for the transportation of long chain fatty acids into the mitochondria where fats are converted into energy.
CoA is the basis for the production of hemoglobin, bile, sex and adrenal steroids, cholesterol and brain chemicals.
Pantethine also supports the adrenal cortex function aiding in times of stress.
